Biography
Thomas (Tom) Shively joined The University of Texas at Austin in 1986. He is a past president of the Austin chapter of the American Statistical Association and a past chair of the Business and Economics sections of the American Statistical Association. He is a four-time recipient of the Outstanding Professor Award in the Full-Time and Executive MBA Programs and also three-time recipient of the Joe D. Beasley Award for Teaching Excellence in the MBA program. His research focuses on nonparametric function estimation and its application in energy economics, finance, marketing, and transportation science.
