Entejar Alam Wins 2024 Student Poster Award at Florida State University
Entejar winning the student poster award
Second year Statistics and Data Sciences (SDS) Ph.D. student Entejar Alam recently received the best student poster award at the “Theory and Foundations of Statistics in the Era of Big Data” conference! The conference, which was held from April 19 to April 21, 2024 at Florida State University, examined major advancements and challenges in the field of statistics, including the impacts of big data and artificial intelligence on statistical research.
Entejar’s poster is based on his recent paper "Dir-SPGLM: A Bayesian semiparametric GLM with data-driven reference distribution." This is a joint work with UT SDS Professor Peter Müller and UT SDS and Population Health Professor Paul J. Rathouz. Congratulations, Entejar!
